Mark Ryan is an acclaimed voice and performance artist. Since 2005 he has been performing recitations of classic literature, particularly of the Irish tradition but also DH Lawrence, Henry Miller and Fernando Pessoa among others.  He has also performed roles in works of Samuel Beckett with The Godot Company.

Before that he wrote and spoke on cultural issues, organising and chairing conferences in Britain, Ireland and the USA.  He has also been a broadcaster, reporting on Irish affairs for SABC news and appearing as cultural commentator on many radio programmes.
