After a successful stint of fashion modelling in London, Milan, Tokyo and New York, Alistair concentrated on acting, training in London and Los Angeles where he was based for two years, debuting there in the American premiere of Talent by Victoria Woods which received the Dramalogue award for Best Play. This was where his voice over career began doing radio commercials for Pacific Telephone.

Once he returned to the UK, he worked in weekly repertory theatre, also appearing as Chief Murdoch in the film Highlander.

Subsequent appearances include radio roles in plays such as The McKinnon Extradition and the League of Gentlemen, television in shows such as Poirot, Taggart, and the sit-com Hilary, and numerous, voice-overs, narrations and tv commercials for the likes of the Chase Manhattan Bank and De Beers.

Alistair's most recent work includes the Chichester Festival Theatre's production of Hobson's Choice as Dr MacFarlane, and the subsequent national tour.
